Eta Nu Nu has committed to provide $76,000 in scholarship monies to high school seniors through the NPHC Hope Scholarship. 15 high school seniors has been impacted through this generosity.
As part of our Annual International Achievement Week Observance, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. invites high school seniors to participate in our prestigious 2024 International High School Essay Scholarship Contest. This contest is a platform for students to express their perspectives on significant issues while competing for college scholarships.

2024 Essay Topic
“What impact do you believe that Social Media is having on Mental Health and why is it important to address this issue?”
This topic challenges students to critically evaluate the influence of social media on mental health, a crucial issue in today's digital age.
Eligibility & Rules
Eligibility: The contest is open to all college-bound, high school seniors who submit an essay application through a Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Originality: The essay must be original, unpublished, and not under copyright. It must be between 700 and 750 words in length.
Submission: Essays must be typewritten, double-spaced, and submitted via postal service or email in Microsoft Word format. The use of assistance software or AI technology is strictly prohibited. Essays exceeding a 40% AI-assisted content threshold will be disqualified.
Rating Criteria
Essays will be evaluated by a local Chapter review panel based on the following criteria:
Development of Topic/Thesis (30 points): The essay must thoroughly cover and develop major points, providing sufficient information for understanding.
Progression (20 points): The composition should progress logically from beginning to end.
Readability (25 points): The essay should be written in a concise, coherent style that captures and holds the reader’s attention.
Grammar (15 points): Proper subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, sentence structure, transitional phrases, and paragraphing are required.
Spelling (5 points)

Additional Information
Publishing Rights: By submitting an essay, participants grant Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. the right to retain and publish their work.
Awards Announcement: Winners will be announced on or about July 1, 2025. The judges' decisions are final.
Verification: Winners must provide proof of enrollment in their respective high school at the time of essay submission and subsequent enrollment in a higher education institution to claim their awards.
Award Claim: Scholarships must be claimed within 18 months of the announcement date. A Media Release form is required for the processing of awards.
Our Chapter recently donated $100,000 to I Know I Can. This is the largest multi-year commitment to the Founders' Scholarship program in their organization's history and will provide multiple students with funds to go to the HBCU of their dreams.
